Stephen Holzen is a Principal in the Washington, D.C. office of The Kenrich Group LLC. His practice specializes in the valuation of Intellectual Property and the determination of economic damages in Intellectual Property litigation. He has led teams during all phases of the litigation process, providing advisory consultations from discovery to trial. Stephen has also provided strategic and corporate finance support to clients engaged in licensing negotiation and business transactions.

Stephen has over 10 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property. He has analyzed accounting, financial, and economic issues in various types of disputes, including analysis of lost profits, determination of reasonable royalties, accounting of defendant’s profits, and intellectual property valuation. He has authored expert reports, advised counsel on damages theory development, and supported testifying experts in federal and state courts.

Prior to joining Kenrich, Stephen was a Director for Ocean Tomo LLC and led the firm’s Federal Services practice by partnering with Federal Agencies to foster innovation through a suite of IP transaction offerings and advisory services. Stephen also spent six years at the U.S. Department of Commerce where he served as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As an examiner he was responsible for managing portfolios of patent applications, researching technologies, analyzing prior art, authoring patentability opinions, and negotiating allowable subject matter.
