“After interning for a large company in college, I knew that I wanted to try something different. Looking back at my first 8 months at Kenrich, I can say that I absolutely made the right choice. I could not have imagined a company with a better culture. I get to talk to and work with Vice Presidents and Principals every day. Not only do I get to work closely with them, they are always willing to help and do whatever it takes to aid my development. Kenrich is full of incredibly smart people at each level who do everything they can to meet our clients’ needs. In just eight months I have already had the opportunity to work on several diverse projects assessing financial damages in construction litigation and have been a significant part of two expert reports. The wide variety of tasks in any given case make this job incredibly interesting and engaging.
The work is challenging, often requiring abstract problem solving abilities and critical thinking in order to succeed. There is always a new problem that needs solving and no two client engagements are ever the same. There is never a dull moment and finding solutions to the complex problems we are presented with is thrilling and rewarding. Being that you’re working so closely with senior level employees, your hard work is always recognized and acknowledged. Everything you do here matters, which makes working for Kenrich so enjoyable and rewarding. “
“I began my career at Kenrich after graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Commerce that included coursework in accounting and finance. I chose Kenrich because I wanted to apply the skills I learned in college in a variety of different cases and practice areas. In my time at Kenrich I have been able to work on more than 20 cases spanning commercial damages investigations, government contracts disputes, breaches of contract, and intellectual property disputes.
At Kenrich we believe the best way to learn is by doing, and I was immediately able to apply the accounting and finance skills I learned in college to client cases. From the accounting side, my undergraduate background has allowed me to analyze clients’ internal accounting system reports to segregate accounting records into various claimable cost categories. My work has also included selecting a statistically representative sample of transactions to review for compliance with accounting standards. Further, I have applied the knowledge I gained from financial coursework to perform cost of capital and discounted cash flows calculations on a variety of cases. All in all, I have enjoyed working at Kenrich because each day is different and filled with unique challenges and great learning opportunities.”
